Halloween on Saturday. Cool. All day to get ready. Uncool. Too much Football and World Series. Can only record so many shows.
As I've said in the past, we generally get around 100 treaters every year. This year was a bit down, so far. Close to 85. One of my favorite tricks to get a treat is to take a piece of candy from their bag and give them a "bag of 4 or 5 pieces" of candy. Only one put up a complaint, but his companion said it was a worthwhile trade off. Another was too scared to come close, but finally relented, but since I had already taken candy from her companions, I told her I needed one from her before she got the bag and she did. Another young group showed up and in the process of taking a piece from their bag and given them a bag, one real young girl said thank you and took off before I could give her a bag.
We don't do too much to scare people, but for some reason several get scared enough to not come up (later I'll post pictures of my outfit and you decide). This year, I opened the back of the truck and put a headless shirt(filled up with bubble wrap) on the right side, a pair of pants in the middle, a couple of witches hats and "bat eyes" lights, plus a shovel. Oops, gotta go turn off the strobe lite in the master bedroom. It's strobing Casper.
Sorry, had to answer the door. It's 9:37. She was a bit scared because Casper was flashing, then not flashing and saw the curtain. Oohhh. I told her since she was scared, I got to get a piece of candy. Her companion gave me one also. Then the three behind them did the same thing. Dots, Nestle Crunch, Reeses Whipped, miniature tootsie pop and Hersheys milk chocolate. That makes 37 pieces they gladly handed over to get a bag.
Watching a tape delayed UT-OSU game. Just intercepted for a touchdown 17 - 0.
4 more treaters. 9:55. Teenagers. Using backpacks. Makes 96 for tonight.
Here's my halloween mask and outfit. I also wish I could claim the pumpkins, but I can't.
