Well, the Virgin is really the Virgen_de_guadalupe painting. Azucena has worked on this for the last week and is for a church play next month. You can see the picture she is basing it on. She also pulled it up on the internet and used an LCD to image it on the canvas and then outline all the markings. As you can see from the original photo she did an amazing job.
Now for NASCAR. We'll be heading out on Tuesday to attend the NASCAR Awards Dinner on Friday night. As you know, last year we went to the October race in Charlotte to Wave the Green Flag and other activies courtesy of MBNA's NASCAR rewards program. She had enough points to qualify for the Wage the Green Flag Experience.
This year, she had enough points for us to attend NASCARs awards dinner. Normally the award presentation is in New York. This year, they are holding it in Las Vegas and opening the dinner to guests other than drivers.
So we'll be in Las Vegas from Tuesday thru Saturday to take in the sights and whatever NASCAR/MBNA throws our way. I doubt we'll be given the green flag treatment like the Experience, but hey, it will be a lot of fun and a chance to meet our drivers one last time.
