Thought I'd try something a bit different. Here is small note from our beloved Azucena. Did she have a great day on Saturday or what! Not even the front 5 of the back nine could damper this spirit. And to think that I know her..
"Well Randy and I went out and played golf today (Saturday) at Star Ranch. Since we started at 4:30 pm it was only $19 a person and included range balls.
Well, we were playing with 2 young guys who were pretty good and had already played 18 holes earlier. Randy and I were initially struggling but it seems once they guys left, our game improved. I sunk a long putt as they were driving away and on the next hole, I got my first birdie.
My tee shot landed just over a club length from the hole but I missed the first putt thinking I was shooting for birdie, sunk it on the second try and found out it was a par 4 not a par 3. On the front 9, taking penalties and everything, I actually got a 47 beating Randy by one stroke.
On the back 9, I fell apart, I guess I was getting a bit tired. But Randy kept on and got a 48 on the back 9 too. My game improved significantly after I called his Dad to brag about my birdie, but I was still tired. We didn't finish until almost 9pm. If it had been as dark when we were playing the 16th hole, we probably would've given up but since it was the 18th, we stuck it in. Shockingly, we didn't lose any balls on the 18th hole.
Randy wasn't able to find as many balls as he usually does, probably because we were on the fairways most of the time so we weren't in good ball hunting territory.
Anyway, that's it. We're pooped but I'm sure we'll try that again.
Azucena"
Kinda like bowling your first 200, and also like beating Randy at bowling for the first (and only) time. Kinda like when I beat ARO at Chess (for the first and only time).
Hope everyone got a chance to see racing history this past Sunday. Danica Patrick got a lot of people watching the Indy500 for the first time, including a few at my work.
