The rats are still with us (dachshunds). Their owner should be by sometime next month to pick them up.
Because we don't feed them table scraps, they ignored their food and stayed away for the first few weeks, so they have lost quite a bit of weight. They are looking pretty good and getting around quite well.
We also gave them a dog house to stay in, but during this last cold spell last week, we spotted them staying with Papas in his dog house. Quite generous of him. I think he's growing fond of Shaun and Dante. Unfortunately, when their owner comes to pick them up, Papas may get a bit despondant. He's shown his protectiveness when we take Buddy to the vet, so I'll be expecting mostly the same when they leave.
 
Shaun is the only one that has tried to sneek away. Yesterday, he pushed his way open the screen door, then got through the cat door. Yes, the two rats have lost enough weight that they can get through the cat door. So Shaun went on a short trip before Azucena caught up with him on her 3-wheeler. Then she "walked" him around the block, with him sitting in the back seat basket on the second half.
