School's in Session; Randy goes modern

School is back in session so drive carefully around the schools.
Azucena spent last week in meetings and Friday getting ready for this week. I stopped by late with Blizzards for Azucena, Jeanette and Danielle. They worked pretty hard to get ready and with only one day, meant showing up on Saturday and/or Sunday.
ARO and I took off around 10 am on Saturday, got breakfast, cleared up a bill at Verizon and spent the rest of the day (until 10pm) at Taylor. I got to do all the helper stuff, so I was pretty busy myself. We made it worthwile by taking a few movies to help pass the time, but with no a/c, it made you wonder why even bother. But we got a lot done. Now my services have been farmed out to Danielle, so we'll wait and see. Payment might be a blizzard. Since I will probably stop by on Fridays after work, I'll probably be helping her out some.

I mentioned stopping by Verizon. Azucena got a Droid X earlier this month to replace her Treo of 7 years. The X crashed before the first week was out. So we stopped by and got a replacement order (X's are on backorder). After her new phone came in, it crashed within a few days. It turns out the sd memory card was bad - maybe her original phone was ok after all. But, all this changing phones stuff added an extra $60something to the bill, so we stopped by this past Saturday to clear it up. And while there, in payment for me being at Taylor for the day, we got an X for myself. So now I become modern in the cell phone world, but it may take me two weeks (remember, I said backorder).
I justified getting my phone because we have paid off two long term bills. One since her MBA days, and the other the TV. We also refinanced her car from 4.49 down to 2.49, so that alone is covering the additional charges to our phone bill.
Azucena is exited about her phone and has been teasing me with it. So we'll see how it works out. One reason I'm hesitant is I wear contacts. I don't see closeup very well without reading glasses, but since the X has a 4" screen, I shouldn't have too much problems.
