Birthday boy here has an answer to the riddle below, what cost $15 and requires me to stay home for most of any 6 days over the next two weeks. I took Friday off to visit mom (because of Chemo, voice is hoarse, no strength, but is able to buy 50 potted plants), and then after lunch, ARO and I were to pick up my present from Jeff's. ARO hinted by asking if I needed new golf clubs and that definitely wasn't the answer to the riddle. Then Gary asked, so I knew something was up. Gary is visiting from New Jersey and brought his clubs. We stopped by Jeff's around 3 and on the table I saw some golf tees. Yeah, funny joke. Anyway Azucena led me around his house and I was half expecting to see golf clubs. As we made our way back to the dining room, we had our answer: Dad. Azucena used her frequent flyer miles and $15 to fly him down here (from Ohio) for 2 weeks. As we walked back and I saw him, the only think I could say was "AWW SHT!!!!!". Not what I was expecting. Great surprise, great present. It was almost given away when we drove up because he was outside and had to hustle inside, but I wasn't looking so it didn't matter. So, I need off 6 days for the next two weeks so I can go golfing with dad and anyone else who wants to tag along. Which means, by the way, that this $15 present is really $45+ each day of golf.
Update on mom, she's doing fine so far. She cut her hair short one evening. She was sounding a bit hoarse on Friday when I saw her in the morning. She talked about not having much strength and stamina, which ONE is understandable, TWO, what the hell was she doing buying 50 potted plants (this makes 300+)? Guess who will do the tilling for these? Yep, Gary. Oh-ho, thought it was me didn't you... Well, it's not. It's Gary, who is also down here as a surprise for me, but he's leaving Tuesday morning. BUT, if Gary wasn't here, then I may have been the one doing the tilling, which is fine with me.
